Terms of Service

By adding ControlArk (the "Bot") to a Discord server, using the ControlArk website or dashboard, or interacting with any ControlArk features, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, discontinue use immediately.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use ControlArk, in accordance with Discord's Terms of Service. If you are under 18, you must have the consent of a parent or guardian. By using ControlArk you confirm that you meet these requirements.

2. Description of Service

ControlArk is a Discord bot and web dashboard providing tools for ARK: Survival Evolved server management, built specifically for Xbox and Microsoft Store servers hosted on Nitrado. Features include:

• Ingame shop and item delivery via Nitrado server access
• Virtual credit system for server administrators
• Playtime reward system — automatic credit and loot box rewards earned through in-game playtime, configured by server administrators
• Xbox gamertag linking — voluntary linking of a Discord account to an Xbox Live gamertag for playtime reward eligibility
• Loot box system — randomised in-game item rewards earned through playtime, opened and delivered via the bot
• Player presence tracking, session history, and player list
• Detection systems (alt accounts, admin commands, illegal names, explorer notes, spoof detection)
• Dino and player tracking webhooks
• Server log streaming and forum integration
• Server management (start, stop, restart, rollback) via Nitrado API
• Tribe log webhooks

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use ControlArk only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with Discord's Terms of Service and Nitrado's Terms of Service. You must not:

• Attempt to abuse, exploit, or reverse-engineer the bot, its API, or its underlying systems.
• Use the bot to harass, harm, stalk, or target other users or players.
• Attempt to access, modify, or delete data belonging to other guilds or users.
• Attempt to circumvent any access controls, permission checks, or security measures.
• Use detection features (alt detection, IP tracking, etc.) for purposes other than legitimate server administration.
• Use the bot to violate ARK's or Nitrado's terms of service on your server.
• Deliberately attempt to interfere with or disrupt item delivery or server management processes.

4. Guild Data & Configuration

When you add ControlArk to your Discord server, you authorise us to store data associated with your Guild ID, including shop packs, detection rules, tracking rules, credit balances, player data, and Nitrado credentials. This data is used solely to operate ControlArk's features for your guild.

Guild administrators are responsible for the configuration of their guild's features and the compliance of their usage with these Terms and applicable laws.

5. Nitrado Integration & Server Management

Certain features (ingame shop delivery, server rollback, server start/stop/restart, server game data processing) require you to provide a Nitrado API token. By providing this token you authorise ControlArk to:

• List, download, upload, and move files on your Nitrado game server.
• Start, stop, and restart your game server.
• Restore game server backups (including as part of the rollback feature).
• Read the player list and server status from your game server.

Your Nitrado token is stored encrypted. ControlArk will only access the servers associated with the token you provide. You are responsible for ensuring your use of the Nitrado integration complies with Nitrado's Terms of Service.

ControlArk is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected to Nitrado or Studio Wildcard.

6. Player Data & Detection Features

ControlArk's detection features (alt account detection, admin detection, illegal name detection, explorer note detection, spoof detection) process in-game player data including platform IDs and IP addresses from your ARK server logs. As a guild administrator enabling these features, you are responsible for:

• Informing your players that their in-game data and IP addresses may be collected and processed.
• Using detection results only for legitimate server administration (e.g., enforcing bans, investigating cheating).
• Complying with applicable data protection laws in your jurisdiction when processing player data.

ControlArk provides these tools as a platform; the responsibility for how they are used rests with the guild administrator.

7. Credits & Virtual Currency

Credits within ControlArk are a virtual in-game currency with no real-world monetary value. They:

• Cannot be redeemed for cash or any real-world value.
• Cannot be transferred between Discord servers.
• May be adjusted, reset, or removed by server administrators at any time without notice or compensation.
• Are issued entirely at the discretion of individual server administrators.

ControlArk (the platform) does not sell, issue, or guarantee credits. Any credit-related disputes are between the player and the server administrator.

8. Ingame Shop & Item Delivery

The ingame shop is a feature for server administrators to facilitate in-game item distribution. ControlArk acts as the delivery mechanism — the transaction is between the player and the server administrator, not ControlArk.

Item delivery depends on access to your server via Nitrado. Delivery may fail or be delayed if:

• The server is offline, restarting, or being updated.
• Nitrado's API is temporarily unavailable or rate-limited.
• Too many items or dinos are included in a single order, which may cause the server to crash on load.
• Certain items or dinos are incompatible and may cause server instability.

In the event of a failed delivery, refer to the Refund & Delivery Policy. ControlArk does not process real-money payments and is not responsible for failed deliveries caused by server misconfiguration or Nitrado outages.

9. Playtime Rewards & Loot Boxes

Server administrators may configure playtime reward rules that automatically award credits or loot boxes to players based on in-game playtime. Loot boxes are earned rewards only — they are not purchasable through the ingame shop. By using the playtime reward system and opening loot boxes, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Loot boxes are earned exclusively through in-game playtime, as configured by the server administrator. They cannot be purchased with credits or real money through ControlArk.
• To be eligible for playtime rewards, you must link your Xbox gamertag to your Discord account via the /linkgt command. Linking is voluntary but required for reward eligibility.
• Playtime is tracked using session data from your ARK game server. Accuracy depends on reliable server log delivery from Nitrado.
• Loot box outcomes are determined randomly using a weighted probability system. No specific item is guaranteed.
• Once a loot box is opened via the /lootbox command, the result is final and cannot be reversed, re-rolled, or exchanged.
• The items available in a loot box pool and their respective drop rates are configured entirely by the server administrator. ControlArk does not control what items are offered or their probabilities.
• All items received from loot boxes are virtual in-game items with no real-world monetary value. They cannot be traded, sold, or exchanged for real money.
• Credits awarded through playtime rules have no real-world monetary value (see Section 7).

Players are responsible for ensuring their use of the loot box and playtime reward features complies with the laws of their own jurisdiction.

10. Admin Commands & Staff Misuse

ControlArk provides admin-level commands (including /lootbox-give and /credits give) that allow designated staff members to grant in-game rewards to players. By enabling these features on your server, the server owner and administrator acknowledge and agree that:

• Server owners are solely responsible for who they grant admin-level permissions to within their Discord server.
• ControlArk is not responsible for the misuse of admin commands by a server's staff members, including but not limited to unauthorised item grants, abuse of the loot box give command, or distribution of in-game rewards in exchange for real-world value.
• Any real-world exchange of items granted through ControlArk's admin commands (including selling, trading, or otherwise monetising admin-granted in-game rewards) is the sole responsibility of the parties involved. ControlArk accepts no liability for such transactions.
• If a staff member misuses an admin command, it is the server owner's responsibility to revoke their permissions and address the situation. ControlArk does not adjudicate disputes between server owners, staff, and players.
• ControlArk may suspend or terminate access to admin features where abuse is reported and confirmed, at its sole discretion.

11. Server Rollback

The server rollback feature allows authorised users to restore an ARK server to a previous Nitrado backup. By using this feature you acknowledge that:

• Rolling back restores the server to a previous Nitrado backup — any data since that backup will be lost.
• ControlArk will restart the server automatically as part of the rollback process.
• ControlArk is not responsible for any loss of player progress, items, tames, or structures resulting from a rollback.

12. Website & Dashboard

Access to the ControlArk web dashboard requires login via Discord OAuth2 and the Manage Server or Administrator permission in the relevant Discord server. Your server permissions are re-verified periodically. Attempting to access another guild's dashboard without authorisation is a violation of these Terms.

13. Subscriptions & Billing

Access to ControlArk's features requires an active paid subscription, processed through our payment provider Stripe. By subscribing you agree to the following:

• Plans. ControlArk offers an Advanced Bot plan (£15/month) and an Advanced Bot + Donation System plan (£30/month), billed on a monthly recurring basis. Prices are displayed in GBP.
• Per-server billing. Each Discord server requires its own subscription. A subscription covers one Discord server (guild).
• Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. You will receive a receipt from Stripe at each renewal.
• Add-ons. The Donation System can be added to an existing Advanced Bot subscription at any time. Proration applies for mid-cycle additions.
• Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time from the billing page of your server dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No further charges will be made after cancellation. Features remain active until the period ends.
• Payment failure. If a payment fails, Stripe will retry automatically. After exhausting retries your subscription will be marked past-due and feature access will be restricted until payment is resolved. You will be notified by email.
• Feature access. Features tied to a plan are only available while the relevant subscription is active and in good standing. ControlArk reserves the right to restrict access if a subscription lapses or a payment dispute is raised.
• Price changes. We reserve the right to change subscription prices. You will be notified at least 30 days before any price change takes effect. Continued use after the change date constitutes acceptance of the new price.
• Refunds. Refunds are subject to the Refund Policy. Refunds may be issued within 48 hours of initial payment where the service has not been actively used. After 48 hours or once the service has been used, payments are non-refundable.

All payments are processed by Stripe. Your payment details are handled solely by Stripe and are never stored on ControlArk's servers. See Stripe's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

14. Availability

ControlArk is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee that the bot, website, or any feature will be available at all times. We may suspend, modify, or discontinue the service at any time, with or without notice, for maintenance, legal reasons, or any other reason.

15. Disclaimer of Warranties

ControlArk is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the bot will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free from data loss.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ControlArk and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the bot or website, including but not limited to:

• Loss of game progress, items, tames, or structures.
• Failed or delayed item deliveries.
• Unintended server restarts or rollbacks.
• Data loss resulting from Nitrado or save file issues.
• Actions taken based on detection system outputs.

17. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ControlArk and its developers from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the bot, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

18. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of ControlArk after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
