Terms of Service
By adding ControlArk (the "Bot") to a Discord server, using the ControlArk website or dashboard, or interacting with any ControlArk features, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, discontinue use immediately.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use ControlArk, in accordance with Discord's Terms of Service. If you are under 18, you must have the consent of a parent or guardian. By using ControlArk you confirm that you meet these requirements.
2. Description of Service
ControlArk is a Discord bot and web dashboard providing tools for ARK: Survival Evolved server management, built specifically for Xbox and Microsoft Store servers hosted on Nitrado. Features include:
- Ingame shop and item delivery via Nitrado server access
- Virtual credit system for server administrators
- Player presence tracking, session history, and player list
- Detection systems (alt accounts, admin commands, illegal names, explorer notes, spoof detection)
- Dino and player tracking webhooks
- Server log streaming and forum integration
- Server management (start, stop, restart, rollback) via Nitrado API
- Tribe log webhooks
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use ControlArk only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with Discord's Terms of Service and Nitrado's Terms of Service. You must not:
- Attempt to abuse, exploit, or reverse-engineer the bot, its API, or its underlying systems.
- Use the bot to harass, harm, stalk, or target other users or players.
- Attempt to access, modify, or delete data belonging to other guilds or users.
- Attempt to circumvent any access controls, permission checks, or security measures.
- Use detection features (alt detection, IP tracking, etc.) for purposes other than legitimate server administration.
- Use the bot to violate ARK's or Nitrado's terms of service on your server.
- Deliberately trigger delivery of corrupted or malformed save files to Nitrado servers.
4. Guild Data & Configuration
When you add ControlArk to your Discord server, you authorise us to store data associated with your Guild ID, including shop packs, detection rules, tracking rules, credit balances, player data, and Nitrado credentials. This data is used solely to operate ControlArk's features for your guild.
Guild administrators are responsible for the configuration of their guild's features and the compliance of their usage with these Terms and applicable laws.
5. Nitrado Integration & Server Management
Certain features (ingame shop delivery, server rollback, server start/stop/restart, save file parsing) require you to provide a Nitrado API token. By providing this token you authorise ControlArk to:
- List, download, upload, and move files on your Nitrado game server.
- Start, stop, and restart your game server.
- Restore game server backups (including as part of the rollback feature).
- Read the player list and server status from your game server.
Your Nitrado token is stored encrypted. ControlArk will only access the servers associated with the token you provide. You are responsible for ensuring your use of the Nitrado integration complies with Nitrado's Terms of Service.
ControlArk is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected to Nitrado or Studio Wildcard.
6. Player Data & Detection Features
ControlArk's detection features (alt account detection, admin detection, illegal name detection, explorer note detection, spoof detection) process in-game player data including platform IDs and IP addresses from your ARK server logs. As a guild administrator enabling these features, you are responsible for:
- Informing your players that their in-game data and IP addresses may be collected and processed.
- Using detection results only for legitimate server administration (e.g., enforcing bans, investigating cheating).
- Complying with applicable data protection laws in your jurisdiction when processing player data.
ControlArk provides these tools as a platform; the responsibility for how they are used rests with the guild administrator.
7. Credits & Virtual Currency
Credits within ControlArk are a virtual in-game currency with no real-world monetary value. They:
- Cannot be redeemed for cash or any real-world value.
- Cannot be transferred between Discord servers.
- May be adjusted, reset, or removed by server administrators at any time without notice or compensation.
- Are issued entirely at the discretion of individual server administrators.
ControlArk (the platform) does not sell, issue, or guarantee credits. Any credit-related disputes are between the player and the server administrator.
8. Ingame Shop & Item Delivery
The ingame shop is a feature for server administrators to facilitate in-game item distribution. ControlArk acts as the delivery mechanism — the transaction is between the player and the server administrator, not ControlArk.
Item delivery depends on access to your server's ARK save file via Nitrado and correct server configuration. Delivery may fail or be delayed if:
- The server is offline, restarting, or being updated.
- Nitrado's API is temporarily unavailable or rate-limited.
- The save file is corrupted or inaccessible.
- The donation room configuration on your server is missing or has been modified.
- The template save file is outdated or incompatible.
In the event of a failed delivery, refer to the Refund & Delivery Policy. ControlArk does not process real-money payments and is not responsible for failed deliveries caused by server misconfiguration or Nitrado outages.
9. Server Rollback
The server rollback feature allows authorised users to restore an ARK server to a previous Nitrado backup. By using this feature you acknowledge that:
- Rolling back restores the server to a previous Nitrado backup — any game progress since that backup will be lost.
- ControlArk will restart the server automatically as part of the rollback process.
- ControlArk is not responsible for any loss of player progress, items, tames, or structures resulting from a rollback.
10. Website & Dashboard
Access to the ControlArk web dashboard requires login via Discord OAuth2 and the Manage Server or Administrator permission in the relevant Discord server. Your server permissions are re-verified periodically. Attempting to access another guild's dashboard without authorisation is a violation of these Terms.
11. Availability
ControlArk is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee that the bot, website, or any feature will be available at all times. We may suspend, modify, or discontinue the service at any time, with or without notice, for maintenance, legal reasons, or any other reason.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
ControlArk is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the bot will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free from data loss.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ControlArk and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the bot or website, including but not limited to:
- Loss of game progress, items, tames, or structures.
- Failed or delayed item deliveries.
- Unintended server restarts or rollbacks.
- Data loss resulting from Nitrado or save file issues.
- Actions taken based on detection system outputs.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ControlArk and its developers from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the bot, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
15. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of ControlArk after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
